BARCELONA LOST AGAIN: WHO WILL TAKE THE LA LIGA TITLE?

The race to the La Liga title is back to life once more after Barcelona lost their third successive league game, Luis Enrique’s side enduring a stun 2-1 home loss to Valencia on Sunday.

Earlier in the day at the Vicente Calderon, Koke, Fernando Torres and Angel Correa were at the top of their game as Atletico Madrid drew level on points with the league leaders with a comfortable 3-0 win over Granada.

The match’s outcome piled more weight on last year’s league champions, Barcelona, now out-of-form; Ivan Rakitic opened the game with an own goal, before Santi Mina’s took it home by scoring his fourth goal of the season. Leaving Camp Nou in ruins.

Despite the fact that Enrique’s men fought back, with Lionel Messi ending his five-game goalless streak by scoring his 500th career goal, Barca found it difficult getting another ball past Valencia’s goalkeeper Diego Alves, who was in top form.

Valencia’s victory implies that Barcelona have been beaten three games in succession for the first time in thirteen years.

La Liga’s top three are isolated by a point with five games left before the season comes to a close; Barcelona currently leads Atletico by goal difference only, leaving Real Madrid third place.
