Falling in love can be easy and enjoyable. It is like a child going down a playground slide. Falling out of it on the other hand can be very painful.
Oyin Adeyemi and Segun Odegbami are perhaps two people in the best position to describe the difference between the two experiences. From being lovers and best of friends, they have parted ways, jettisoning memories of the good times they once shared. Their relationship has totally lost its magic, leaving Segun and Oyin wondering why it began in the first place.
Oyin, the Chief Executive Officer of StillEarth Ltd, a construction company, and Odegbami, a Nigerian soccer legend, called it quits a few months after they got engaged to each other.
The duo, who seemed to be enjoying a blossoming relationship before and after their introduction ceremony, parted ways to the dismay of friends and family members because it finally dawned on them that their world views are different almost in every way.
The fact that Odegbami is more than 20 years older than Oyin accentuated the differences between them.
It is not the first time Odegbami would have a broken relationship, as the one he had with ace TV presenter, Funmi Iyanda, also broke down irretrievably after it had produced a daughter.
Now, Odegbami has relocated to his home in Waasimi, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
